What is endometriosis and how it happens?

Endometriosis is a common and painful disease that affects about 5.5million women in USA and is one of the top three causes of infertility in women. As is known, the normal endometrium begins to thicken in preparation for becoming pregnant, but if don’t, your body sheds the tissues during the period and the process starts over. While, if you have endometriosis, the tissues very similar to the endometrium begins to grow outside the uterus in various places that it shouldn’t. The abnormal endometrium can appear in or on the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the various structures that support the uterus and the lining of the pelvic cavity.
